Information
Nasal helmet
Helmet with fixed nose protector. The nasal helmet was the dominant
form of head protection from the 800's until the end of the 1100's.
There are examples that the helmets' clock is made up of several segments
with rivets, however, with the development of metalwork, more generally
they were made of one piece.
The nasal helmet is worn over a padded hood, as well as a chainmail
coif. The nose protector protects against direct and lateral strokes
against the face.
