Information
Knee Protection (Poleyns)
The earliest transition from chainmail to plate armor is seen in
knee protection at the beginning of the 13th century. A development
that comes with the transition from almond-shaped to triangular-shaped
shields, where the shields become shorter and no longer protect the
knees.
